Day 1 AsiaTrip - Australia - Sydney International Airport - First Class Lounge

Blog'D by Atamarashi

First day, to Singapore, was surprisingly good. Compared to most lounges I've been to (none that I can remember) it succeeded expectations. Free Internet Terminals, First class meals, sofas, wide views and much more...

Much like this quote from Max:

"...First Class meals, not the things they serve to economy shmucks...."

Now to the food:

  • 4-5 stars rated by myself

  • Nice, delicious, appetising food served in a higher-but-not-poshy environment.

  • I selected Chips (with tomato sauce) and the Minute steak with some awesome butter/oil/sauce combination.

The Chips......

The ice cream...(in KL it says 'ais crem', it still cracks me up)

Next, we headed over to the Internet Terminals (free!!) and surfed a bit.....

The PA announced our flight was delayed in order to switch planes (due to a blockage in the pipes the water, effluent and drinking water was in. [I believe somebody must of blocked the toilet]) so I surfed a bit more and blogged.

After about an hour, our flight still was delayed so we headed over to some sofas and internet terminals. I USB-charged my PSP a bit and played a online rally game....(it was kinda fun...).

45 minutes passed and we had to go so I packed up everything and headed to the gates. I said my goodbyes to the airport lounge.

At the gate I was a bit nervous about the flight as there was three planes going to Singapore and I didn't know which one was ours.

In the plane, sitting next to this woman who was going the Frankfurt for a job, found out by my mum, whose ability to talk to total strangers like she knows them or something sometimes proves useful, I kept waiting for the screen entertainment thingy to turn on already.

Another delay occured because of some noise problem in the upper deck, so the had to get an electrician to come and fix it, thus delaying further.

By the time the plance actually moved, I was supremely bored, it was dark outside and it felt really unpleasant. The plane took off, the whistle of the engine was dominant in my ears and then a multi-lingual safety video played, then and only then did the entertainment start.

It wasn't even very good. The games were from 2002, the movies were OK ( I watched 2: Alvin and the Chipmunks and Bee Movie - both alright), the music good and everything else? Not so much. The flight took practically forever however it was bearable. They fed us twice - dinner and supper when just about everyone was asleep (even me).

We finally touched down in Singapore at around 12:20 am Singapore time. I felt weak and I had this strange feeling of euphoria from walking after a long flight. I let it take over and I found my self being hyperactive, alert and happy. It was really weird. As soon as we reached the customs/immigration part, the euphoria ceased and left me alone. A couple of stamps on our passports, glances and we shuffled through to the luggage part.

I pushed the luggage trolley and we waited for our suitcases.

The suitcases came and we then went to the taxis.

Of course we got into one and I climbed into the back-right seat. I noted the details of the taxi and wrote it down in my notebook. Throughout the taxi trip, I heard a distinctive whine of a turbo or a supercharger, however I wasn't sure. Anyway we checked into our hotel and went up into our room.

Immediately, I spotted a LCD Widescreen TV and a king size bed. I dropped my bag, took off my shoes (lazily of course) and sprawled on the bed.

A couple of hours, I had a shower, changed to pajamas and slept heavily knowing there was about 27 more days to go.

Quote (from a Yellowcard song - Inside out):

"I guess this is kinda over now, I guess this is called a fallin' out.."

Makes you think huh?

Well, since nobody is saying anything about it, I say it.

Delaying the turnback day of daylight saving to April 6 is weird, if not redundant. OK, so it is good for the environment, even so it messes up computers, BlackBerrys and just about anything that has a computer controlled time system. Now, don't flame me for it, it's just my opinion. You don't have to agree to it or disagree to it, I'm just saying this for saying this' sake.

You got mail!...

E-mail: people depend on it/use as only means of communication/hope it goes away/hate it.

Take people with BlackBerrys for example, they check their inboxes about every 5 minutes. I'm not saying anything's wrong with it, it's just too many things can manipulate it to be various things that can be hurtful to society.

Online bullying affects about no one, yet schools insist on increasing awareness of it. OK, so it does affect some of us however there is not a significant enough majority to fuel a massive scale investigation into it.

Anyways, The Final Warning is awesome!! (Max and Fang make out!!)

Fly on.
